Health Sync

How BlazeFiit tracks your steps, sleep, and activity data.

How it works

BlazeFiit reads your health data so your coach can see your daily progress — steps, sleep, calories, heart rate, and more. Data is synced to a secure database whenever you open the app. Your coach only sees the totals, never raw sensor data.

There are two ways BlazeFiit gets your data, depending on your device and wearable:

  • On-device sync — reads directly from Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android).
  • Google Health cloud sync — pulls steps and sleep from the Google Health API. Best for Fitbit users on iPhone, or anyone whose wearable doesn’t write to Apple Health or Health Connect.

iPhone — Apple Health

If you use an Apple Watch, most workout apps, or any app that writes to Apple Health, BlazeFiit reads your data automatically.

Setup

  1. Open BlazeFiit → Settings.
  2. Under Health Integration, tap Connect Apple Health.
  3. Grant permissions for the categories you want to share (steps, sleep, calories, etc.).
  4. Data syncs every time you open the app.

What gets synced

  • Steps, active calories, resting calories
  • Sleep duration
  • Heart rate (average), weight, body fat %
  • Distance, workouts

Fitbit on iPhone?

Fitbit does not write data to Apple Health natively. If you use a Fitbit with an iPhone, use Google Health cloud sync instead (see below).

Android — Health Connect

Android phones use Health Connect as the central health data hub. Samsung Health, Google Fit, Fitbit, Garmin Connect, and other apps write data there.

Setup

  1. Install Health Connect from the Play Store (pre-installed on most newer phones).
  2. Open BlazeFiit → Settings.
  3. Under Health Integration, tap Connect Health Connect.
  4. Grant the requested permissions.

What gets synced

  • Steps, active calories, resting calories
  • Sleep duration
  • Heart rate (average), weight, body fat %
  • Distance, workouts

Steps showing 0?

Your health app (Samsung Health, Fitbit, etc.) needs to share data with Health Connect. Open your health app’s settings and enable Health Connect sharing. Then pull down to refresh in BlazeFiit.

Samsung watch + phone double-counting

If you have a watch and phone, multiple apps may record the same steps to Health Connect. BlazeFiit uses Health Connect's Activity-app priority and reconciles overlapping timestamps so duplicate intervals are counted once. If your steps look wrong, ask your coach to check the Steps source on your profile.

Google Health — Fitbit, Pixel Watch & more

If your wearable syncs to Google Health (formerly Fitbit), you can connect BlazeFiit directly to the Google Health cloud. This is the recommended option for:

  • Fitbit users on iPhone (Fitbit doesn’t sync to Apple Health)
  • Pixel Watch users
  • Anyone whose wearable syncs to Google but not Health Connect or Apple Health

Setup

  1. Make sure your Fitbit / Pixel Watch data is syncing to your Google account (open the Google Health or Fitbit app and confirm).
  2. Open BlazeFiit → SettingsHealth integrations.
  3. Tap Connect Google Health.
  4. Sign in with the Google account linked to your Fitbit / wearable.
  5. Grant BlazeFiit permission to read your activity and sleep data.
  6. You’ll see Connected in Settings. Tap Sync now to pull your latest data.

What gets synced

  • Steps (daily total)
  • Sleep (total minutes)

Other metrics (calories, heart rate, weight) are not currently pulled from Google Health. If you also have Health Connect or Apple Health connected, those metrics will still sync from your device.

Disconnecting

Go to Settings → Health integrations and tap Disconnect. BlazeFiit will revoke its access token. You can also remove BlazeFiit from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/connections.

Which sync option should I use?

Your setupRecommended sync
iPhone + Apple WatchApple Health
iPhone + FitbitGoogle Health (cloud)
iPhone + Garmin / Whoop / OuraApple Health (if the app writes to it)
Android + Samsung watchHealth Connect
Android + FitbitHealth Connect (or Google Health cloud)
Android + Pixel WatchHealth Connect (or Google Health cloud)
Android + Garmin / Whoop / OuraHealth Connect (if the app writes to it)

Privacy & data

  • BlazeFiit only reads your data — it never writes health data back to Apple Health, Health Connect, or Google Health.
  • Your data is stored securely and shared only with your assigned coach within your gym.
  • You can disconnect any integration at any time in Settings.
  • Deleting your BlazeFiit account removes all stored health data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Troubleshooting

My steps are showing 0

iPhone: Open Settings > Health > Data Access > BlazeFiit and make sure step data is enabled. Open BlazeFiit and pull down to refresh.

Android: Make sure your health app (Samsung Health, Fitbit, etc.) is sharing data with Health Connect. Open BlazeFiit and pull down to refresh.

My steps seem too high (double-counting)

This can happen on Android if both your phone and watch record steps to Health Connect. BlazeFiit automatically picks the most accurate source. If it still looks wrong, ask your coach to check your steps source setting on your client profile.

Google Health says 'Access blocked' or 'invalid_scope'

Make sure you’re signing in with the Google account that has your Fitbit or wearable data. If you see an access error, the app may still be in review with Google — contact your coach or email support@blazefiit.com for help.

I connected Google Health but no data appears

Tap Sync now in Settings > Health integrations. If steps and sleep both show 0, your wearable data may not have synced to Google yet. Open the Google Health or Fitbit app and make sure it shows today’s data, then try again.

Can I use both Apple Health / Health Connect AND Google Health?

Yes. BlazeFiit syncs from your device first, then from Google Health if connected. For steps and sleep, the Google Health value will take priority. Other metrics (calories, heart rate, weight) always come from your device.
